It’s springtime in North Texas. So what does that mean for North Texans? A trip to Texas-Tulips of course!
Texas-Tulips is a beautiful pick-your-own-stem tulip farm located in Pilot Point, Texas. Every spring they open their fields during February and March for family fun, flower picking, and of course…photos!
We’ve gone the past two years and have definitely not been disappointed. We have captured some adorable photos of our toddler and had fun picking our own tulips. This year we did a little more toddler chasing than photography. Our 2 year old is slightly obsessed with picking flowers, so the field was a bit distracting for her.
Family/amateur photography is allowed with the basic entrance fee. (This year it was $3 per person). Professional photography requires a separate fee. (This year it was $25 plus the admission fee). They also offer an absolutely wonderful early entrance special. (This year it was on Wednesday mornings from 7-9am, and the fee was $10 per person). We weren’t able to take advantage of it this year, but the sunrise photos that you capture are well worth the extra entrance fee.
The season is relatively short, lasting only a few weeks from February to March. Since it is a pick-your-own-stem field, you will definitely want to plan on a February visit to get the best stems and photos.
